5 Things to do when you don’t know what to do.

I can’t imagine a life without goals, inspiration, dreams and drive. I have gone down the path of wanting to do so many things, learning, achieving, witnessing and some way some how nothing happens. So a sudden recharge occurs, an inner voice reminding me to focus. To listen closely, to spend time alone and “get on the ball” to pursue what my heart desires. Therefore I came up with a list of helpful things to do when you feel discourage, confuse or just don’t know what to do next… What direction to go.

1. Pray: Regardless of your beliefs, or religious denomination, just pray, ask God to help you examine your heart and help you see what it is you are meant to be doing.

2. Don’t compare your life with others: It is so easy look around and focus on everybody’s highlights. It’s easy to compare their achievements,  possessions, relationships, personality, status, goals, etc., with your current situation. This will leave you feeling more discouraged and frustrated.  Instead of wasting time doing this, focus on everything YOU have accomplished, give yourself pep talks and focus on your highlights.  (Doesn’t matter who you are, I know you have them).

3. Step out of your box: Now that you have asked for guidance and fixed your attitude is time to work. Step out of your box. Look for business opportunities, careers, or job offerings you’ve never considered before. Grab a book about a topic you do not know anything about and just read. Listen to music you normally don’t have in your iPod, listen to a different radio station. Find an artist or genre you are not familiar with and let Pandora do the job! Pinterest is a great way to find out other things that are out there and you might like. Try a new hobby.

4. Be realistic: Once something has really caught your interest, narrow your attention and look really deep into it. A career opportunity, an idea to start your business, a hobby turned into a habit will develop from this.

5. Get to work: Create a plan, get organized and don’ t get lazy. It is helpful to start a budget, start saving money and invest in your new plan. Whether it’s starting your own business, perfecting your hobby or going back to school, you will need money.

I hope you find the list useful, and take the time to examine your life. Even if everything is into place, there is always room to improvement. My friend, it could have been worse!
